CRPL Lands Library Journal’s Year In Architecture Cover

The Cedar Rapids Public Library was featured on the cover of Library Journal’s 2014 Year in Architecture issue. The completion of the project was a watershed moment for the recovery efforts of downtown Cedar Rapids in the wake of the devastating floods of 2008, in which the original library’s structure was damaged beyond repair. The new LEED Platinum building opened to the public in 2013, and has been recognized with many accolades, including interior design honorable mention from the ALA and International Interior Design Association; Design Is…Award from the Shaw Contract Group; and a “Best Curb Appeal” honorable mention from the GALE “Libraries Are Beautiful” photo contest.
