OPN welcomes Marcelo Aruani, Jacob Cournoyer, Taylor Korslin

OPN Architects is growing. We will welcome more than 20 new employees and summer interns in the next three months. The first to join us are:  Marcelo Aruani, Jacob Cournoyer,  and Taylor Korslin.

Marcelo Aruani

Marcelo Aruani joins OPN as a job captain after more than five years as a designer and associate at Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects in New Haven, Connecticut. Marcelo is originally from Mendoza, Argentina, where he received an Architecture Degree from the University of Mendoza. He enjoys exploring design possibilities when faced with difficult scenarios; the more complicated, the better. He joined the Cedar Rapids studio in May, and will be transferring to OPN’s Iowa City office when it opens in August.

Jacob CournoyerJacob Cournoyer started as a full-time architectural intern in May after working on contract in the Cedar Rapids studio for the past year. Originally from Eau Claire, Wis., Jacob developed a love for design early. He finds the cultural and societal implications of design most interesting. Outside of the studio, he enjoys exploring Cedar Rapids via bicycle and capturing the world through a camera lens. Jacob adds to our growing list of proud University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee alumni, where he earned a Masters in Architecture.

Taylor Korslin

Another recent University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee graduate, Taylor Korslin joined the Cedar Rapids studio as an architectural intern in May. During his undergrad studies, Taylor participated in many programs and projects, including working on the Milwaukee Inner Harbor Green Corridor and the Milwaukee Arts Barge exhibit. His love for architecture transcends his day job: when not in the studio, Taylor is documenting his exploration of the vast world of architecture on his blog, He also enjoys hitting the                                            links, playing pick-up basketball games, and traveling.
